The First Descendant’s first BIG update is coming a day earlier than expected. You’ll be able to jump in this Wednesday and farm for Ultimate Valby and the newest descendant, Luna! We’ll also get a new Colossus to fight, named Gluttony! And also, don’t forget the new Ultimate weapon “Peace Mediator.” This is the early August update (moved up to July 31) and we’ll see the next big update at the end of August to start Season 1 in The First Descendant. So yes, this is still pre-season!

New Descendant – Luna

The newest addition to The First Descendant’s roster, Luna, is known for her musical performances and skills that enhance allies’ abilities. You’ll have to fire her special synthesizer gun in rhythm to have the best performance. And when she dances to the right music, she will increase allies’ skill power or help to recover resources. Let’s take a look at some of her brand new modules.

• Nimble Footsteps: Enhances Luna’s mobility and amplifies the effect range of her performance, allowing for more effective ally support.
• –Noise Surge: Transforms Luna from a supporter to a combat dealer. Dashes towards enemies in rhythm, dealing damage to nearby enemies. When the inspiration gauge is full, summons a stage to recover mental strength and shields.

Ultimate Valby Modules

On Wednesday we’ll see many updates to The First Descendant including her NEW ultimate skill modules. The first of this is Spiral Tidal Wave: “Replaces the Bubble Bullet, which was difficult to aim, with a projectile that flies straight. Spiral Tidal Wave attracts the impurities of Gluttony, making it an excellent choice for intercepting Gluttony.” Gluttony is the brand new Colossus that will be introduced into the game with this update. Her second ultimate skill module is Hydro Pressure Bomb: “Instead of “Plop Plop,” it leaps forward and deals damage to enemies around the landing area. The more enemies in the laundry state, the more powerful the damage, making Hydro Pressure Bomb a strong finishing blow. Instead of diving into the water, leap joyfully forward!”

Brand New Colossus Boss Battle!

Descendants can jump into the brand-new intercept battle this week with a Devourer-type colossus named Gluttony. “It is equipped with systems to mine Void Energy and a cooling system to cool the heat generated during this process”. From the wording it seems like Gluttony will either be fire or chill based. Intercept Gluttony and collect new ultimate weapons and external components.

New Ultimate Weapon – Peace Mediator

The new ultimate weapon coming out with this pre-season update is called Peace Mediator. A powerful single shot hand cannon which increases defense and mentality when using skills but decreases movement speed and attack power. This ultimate weapon could be a great choice for descendants focused on skill damage and ability spam.

New Balancing Updates

The First Descendant devs have plans to adjust Valby, Blair, and Freyna, who use AOE as their main skills. I’m looking forward to this update as I think there will be more options for farming builds than just Bunny and Valby. Blair has needed a big buff since launch!

Additionally, there will be improvements to Ultimate weapons that enhance critical hit chance and damage. Enduring Legacy (machine gun), Secret Garden (tactical rifle), and Nazeistra’s Devotion (hand cannon) will be improved to boast more powerful firepower with critical settings. This is an interesting update because those weapons are already used pretty often due to their damage and ultimate abilities. Naseistra’s and Enduring Legacy will become even more meta. Also, Greg’s Reversed Fate (tactical rifle) will be adjusted to activate its unique effect in more chances. This is a great change because Greg’s was only useful for enemies with full shields. They are also improving the functionality of single-shot weapons, allowing players to choose between single-shot and rapid-fire modes.

New Cosmetic Skins

You can see Ultimate Valby’s new skins, both original blue and charismatic red. Which one if your favorite? There have also been leaks to other skins possibly coming out with the update. I cannot find an official source of those images yet, but I have included them in here too.
